Sales of rosé wine are booming as drinkers opt for the popular summer tipple – even in the colder months.

Volume sales this year climbed 3 per cent to 125m, the Wine and Spirit Trade Association said today.

The drink – historically enjoyed as a summer treat – has seen higher sales over Christmas.

But the number of bottles of red wine sold in the UK fell 6 per cent last year.

White wine sales dipped by 4 per cent in 2025 compared to the previous year, too.
